What a relief!
Could not be happier with this new Speakman SM-5000. For years when my wife would be in the shower I would inadvertently turn on the hot water in the kitchen and hear her scream and pound on the walls for me to shut off the hot water. What was happening was the use of the hot water in a different room would cause the hot water line to have a lower pressure than the cold water line so the cold water would push through the shower valve making the water cold instantly. I did not want to take any chances on changing this valve out to pressure only so I bought the Speakman SM-5000 that has pressure and thermostatic sensing. Now all we do is set the valve handle at a known position and it is always the right temperature for showering. Before the change out we would always turn the shower valve to full hot to get the hot water to the shower head sooner. Now we don't have to do that. Just set the valve to the same position as showering and the valve gets the hot water there just as fast...
